Accessories

In-Check Dial is comprised of two components - an inspiratory flow meter (with integral resistances) and a mouthpiece.

An adult-to-paediatric mouthpiece adaptor is included with each meter.

They are packaged with an instruction booklet, and a laminated chart describing the Optimum Inspiratory Flow for the inhalers simulated.

Variations of the In-Check Dial can be found here.

Mouthpieces

The standard In-Check DIAL is supplied with a sterilisable plastic mouthpiece.

Cardboard mouthpiece (back) and sterilisable plastic mouthpiece (front)

Ordinary cardboard mouthpieces can be used with the In-Check DIAL. However Clement Clarke recommends that One-way disposable cardboard mouthpieces (part ref. 3122050) be used, as they prevent the patient from exhaling into the instrument. They can be replaced for each new patient, minimising the risk of cross-infection. They should be discarded after use.

Notes on the use of spirometry filters

It is possible to use the In-Check DIAL with spirometric filters rather than the mouthpieces. Filters that are have a low resistance have not been found to influence the readings obtained from In-Check DIAL. To date, Clement Clarke has not identified any manufacturer of filters that would compromise the readings obtained.

A new filter should be offered to each new patient. They should be discarded after use.
