In-Check Nasal is a hand-held mechanical flow measurement device that provides objective assessment of nasal inspiratory flow.
The In-Check Nasal inspiratory flow meter can measure inspiratory flow rates in the range 30 to 370 l/min, with an accuracy of +/- 10% or 10 l/min (whichever is the greater).
All In-Check meters are hand-calibrated in the factory in Harlow, England, resulting in very high consistency in readings between meters.
All In-Check meters are calibrated using an ATS pulmonary waveform generator, and the product complies with the Australian/New Zealand standards for back pressure in flow meters.
For nasal measurements, a standard In-Check Oral device is combined with a cushioned face mask.
The cushioned face mask is of a standard "anaesthetic" type, designed to enclose the nose and mouth completely, making an airtight seal.
As with any inhalation device it is important to check for loose foreign objects. The transparent body of the In-Check Nasal meter is designed to allow a visual inspection before use.
The meter is manufactured from medical grade components, and is suitable for multiple patient use when cleaned appropriately between patients.
Performance accuracy
Accuracy +/- 10% or 10 l/min (whichever is greater) and repeatability of +/- 5 l/min.
The expected life of the In-Check, in normal use, is two years.
WARNING
With any inhalation device it is important to check for loose foreign objects before the device is used. The transparent material used in the construction of the In-Check enables the user to make a visual check before inhalation.
